Why School Breakfast?

Breakfast plays a critical role in student success. Studies show that children who eat breakfast are more focused, perform better on tests, and experience fewer behavior problems. Eating breakfast can also reduce chronic absenteeism by as much as 6 percent! School breakfast fuels learning, growth, and overall well-being, ensuring that no child starts their day on an empty stomach.

Why Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC)?

Breakfast in the Classroom (BIC) provides students with a consistent, nourishing start to their day by serving meals after the official start of the school. By making breakfast more accessible, BIC programs significantly increase participation in school meal programs and ensure that all students – especially the most vulnerable – have the fuel they need to succeed.
